Technology boosts preservation of centuries-old art

  A touring exhibition highlighting how artists, scientists and cultural heritage protectors have worked together to preserve the art of a stunning centuries-old temple in Shaanxi province has arrived in Xinyang, Henan province.

  The exhibition, held in the Jigong Mountain International Art District, displays over 100 photos, installations, interactive digital works, and designs, and brings visitors to the mysteriously fascinating atmosphere of Shuilu Temple, in which thousands of figures, animals, and mythological creatures were housed. They are part of an expansive cluster of wall sculptures also depicting mountains, waters, gardens, and architecture.

  The exhibition is an initiative of the Beijing Institute of Technology to facilitate digital means in the conservation and revival of cultural heritage.
