On May 28, Chinese Embassy in Sweden and Stockholm Chinese Association jointly sponsored the 2nd Chinese Kite Festival at Eastern Lawn in Stockholm, capital of Sweden, which involved participation of hundreds of adults and children. Various kites were fluttering in the wind, which became a brilliant scene in the sky of Stockholm. Besides flying kites, people were able to learn how to make a kite on the spot. The sponsor also conferred awards on flying and making kites. Right in the event venue, Pu Zhengdong, cultural counselor of Chinese Embassy in Sweden, introduced the origin and history of Chinese kites and the cultural customs of holding annual kite festivals in China, and brought a lot of souvenirs and gifts, which was greatly welcome.
