China's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday box office surpassed 270 million yuan (around $40.2 million), warming up the country's film market ahead of the upcoming National Day holiday.

　　More than 20 Chinese and foreign films have been or are scheduled to be released during the two holidays, covering a variety of genres, including suspense, comedy and animation.

　　Marvel's Avengers Endgame: Encore, a re-release of the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame with additional footage, led the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday box office, followed by the Chinese films Once Upon a Time in the Middle East and All Wishes Come True!.

　　For the National Day holiday, the China-UK co-production Peppa Pig: Perfect Holiday led the pre-sale box office as of Sunday. The first 3D animated film in the series follows Peppa's adventures in China after a sudden storm carries her to the country. Other highly anticipated new releases include the Chinese crime drama Traces of Justice and the Chinese comedy Mr. & Mrs. Pardon.
