"In the past three-year long academic exchanges, I was the only member who participated through the whole event. After such a studying and exchanging process, I can't just use the words 'benefit', because I think, as for me, the event has enabled me to be inspired and comprehended in terms of thoughts, ideas and practices. Whether in Beijing, Chengdu or Seoul, each tutor and art group has given me nutrients, inspiring me to carry on the road of art." On June 30th, DENG Yonghua, a dancer from Macao, as the representative of all group members told about the story of her own exchanges with Macao series with passion at the graduation ceremony of Inheritance & Innovation: 2018 Art Talents of Macao Stage of CLFAC Visit South Korea for Academic Exchanges.

We Should Catch Up
Continuing the theme of "Inheritance and Innovation", the Macao 4-phase has incorporated the theme into the content of the lectures and teaching methods. Whether in classroom or art institutions, the members have conducted a full discussion with professors and artists in the field of stage art in South Korea concerning the "Inheritance and Innovation ". The academic visit to South Korea is an innovation in the form of Macao art talents' initiative, which means that Macao art talents could learn and think in the cultural and artistic atmosphere of foreign countries. XU Guoquan, artistic director of Macau Xiaojiao Drama Research Institute and member of the Macao 4-phase, said: "We have found some art groups and institutions that are not available in Macau from this visit in South Korea, which makes me to think about if we could establish similar organizations to facilitate the development of Macao artists. Similarly, the perseverance and strong will of South Korean artists motivate me to move forward and do better in the future!"
The selecting country as South Korea of the first overseas academic visit of art talents from Macao is mainly due to two aspects. Firstly, Macau and South Korea, both in the East Asian cultural circle, share much similarity in the development of culture and art. Secondly, the development of the stage art in South Korea has obvious experience advantages, and its development deserves in-depth study and understanding. During the preparations for the Macao 4-phase, the project team has invited the members to present their individual needs for the schedule, and finally adjusted the schedule to the best after repeated revisions. The on-site teaching afterwards and the content of the classes were quite related, and the on-site teaching arrangements were quite diversified in terms of the nature, positioning and artistic institutions and companies that play different functions in the South Korean literary and art circles, giving us a more comprehensive landscape of the development status of literature and art in South Korea. " JIANG Xinyi, director of the CHENG WU JI • Macau Dance Troupe, said: "The learning experience in South Korea this time can be used by Macao artists for references so as to explore the possibilities of the future development of Macao's culture and art."
