At the award ceremony of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival on February 15, Chinese films won three awards and gave a big shock to the world. The film Black Coal, Thin Ice directed by Diao Yinan won Golden Bear Award of Best Film, and Chinese actor Liao Fan won Silver Bear Award of Best Actor and the film Blind Massage directed by Lou Ye and in the cinematography of Zeng Jian won Silver Bear Award of Outstanding Art Contribution.
Berlin International Film Festival is a lucky event for Chinese filmmakers. Chinese director such as Zhang Yimou (with the film Red Sorghum in 1988), Xie Fei (with the film Woman Sesame Oil Maker in 1993) and Wang Quan’an (with the film Tuya’s Marriage in 2007) have won Golden Bear Award before.
