As part of China Host Events of London Book Fair, the album titled China—the New Long March was globally premiered in April in London. This album will be published in seven languages such as Chinese, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Japanese.
This album is jointly produced by Qingdao Publishing Group and Weldon International from Australia in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of CPC founding and the 75th anniversary of Long March victory. This project was fulfilled in two periods, that is, preliminary planning and interview and official shooting. In June and July last year, the preliminary group consisting of reporters both at home and abroad as well as working staff started from Ruijin, via Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia and Shaanxi, reached Yan’an and completed site selection, planning and preliminary interviews. In September that year, the shooting was officially launched. Four foreign photographers from USA, Switzerland, France and Australia, 10 Chinese excellent photographers recommended by China Photographers Association such as Wang Wenlan and Hei Ming, and author Anthony Paul started from Beijing and went on Long March route by two batches within two weeks. With their camera or writing, they recorded and showcased historical culture, landscape along the route and great changes that have taken place in local people’s life in the past 70 years especially since the reform and opening up.
