On February 9, 2012, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) held 2012 Spring Festival reception for foreign diplomatic envoys in China at the home of Chinese artists. The reception was undertaken by the International Liaison Department of the CFLAC with the assistance of China Musicians Association. Zhao Shi, secretary of the Communist Party group and vice president of the CFLAC,  Feng Yuan and Yang Chengzhi, members of the Communist Party group and vice presidents of the CFLAC, Xia Chao and Li Qianguang, members of the Communist Party group and secretaries of the secretariat of the CFLAC, Xu Peidong, vice president of the CFLAC, secretary of the branch party group and resident vice-president of China Musicians Association, were present at the reception, with attendance of diplomats from 26 countries, officials of Macao Office in Beijing, and leaders from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Hong Kong and Macao Office under the State Council, etc. Leaders from all National Associations of Art and Literary Circles affiliated to the CFLAC as well as officials from offices, departments and units under the direct control of the CFLAC were also present. Huang Wenjuan, Director of the International Liaison Department of the CFLAC presided over the reception. 

Yang Chengzhi delivered a speech at the reception. On behalf of the CFLAC, she expressed her Spring Festival greetings to the guests present, and briefly reviewed the major projects done by the CFLAC in the past year, especially the great successes achieved in the cultural exchanges with foreign countries. With the aim of promoting friendship and common development, the CFLAC successfully held a series of big events, for example, China Today Art Week in Sweden; Happy Spring Festival Photo Exhibition in Australia; the 33^rd World Congress of the International Theatre Association; the exchange performance tour in China by the U.S. Art Ensemble of Youngsters; the First Annual Meeting of Taihu Lake Cultural Forum and the 14^th International Photographic Art Exhibition, etc. In addition, the CFLAC sent some cultural and art delegations and groups abroad and invited more than 30 foreign delegations and groups to China, about 1700 people involved in these cultural exchange program. These exchanges and cooperation not only promoted understanding and friendship between artists and cultural workers of China and foreign countries, but also let foreign audiences know more about China and Chinese culture, thus strengthened the friendly feelings. On behalf of the CFLAC, she expressed her sincere thanks to the representatives of foreign missions in China, Hong Kong and Macao Offices in Beijing, and ministries and departments concerned for their support, and hope in the new year, everybody will join hands to make greater contributions to the promotion of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, and to the prosperity of culture and art in the World.  

The event included a reception and a special concert. Some gold-prize winners at the 2011 China gold-bell music competition and some international prize winners of vocal and instrumental performances were invited to the concert. Among the performers, there are Zhang Jianyi, singer, Wang Zhongshan, zheng performer, etc. and new talents emerged from the 2011 gold-bell music competition like Wang Yang, He Chang, Zheng Jie, Charming String Quartet Group, etc., as well as budding child prodigy of piano (or violin). 

The fourth movement of Schubert string quartet “Death and the Maiden”; Chopin’s Piano composition “Fantasy Impromptu”; Pipa Solo “Sunlight Shine on the Tashkurgan”; Chrysler’s violin composition “Chinese Flower Drum”; “Song of Laughing”, excerpt from Opera “Bats”; Zeng composition “Dance in Tianshan Mountain”;  “Nessun Dorma”, excerpt from Opera “Turando”…. 

The artists’ exquisite performances won acclamation of distinguished guests. The concert showed not only excellent artistic skill of Chinese mature artists, but also outstanding natural gift of new talents, further more it showed the vigorous vitality and bright future in the development of Chinese art.
