“Charming Chinese Music 2012”, an annual Chinese New Year concert in Cincinnati, U.S.A. was staged in Kbit Music Hall, Cincinnati University Conservatory during Chinese Spring Festival. The concert gave a performance of two representative works by Ao Changqun, famous composer, “Kangba Music Epic”, a wind and string symphony, and “I Love You, China”, a vocal composition. It was a combination of Chinese and Western style New Year Concert. As in the past years, music lovers and American professionals craving for Chinese culture and music were attracted to this top university concert-hall for enjoyment. This year, the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Music Association co-operate with Cincinnati University Conservatory once again in an effort to made the concert a focus of Chinese cultural fever in Cincinnati. The Grater Cincinnati Chinese Music Association as a non-profit organization was founded 16 years ago, since then, the Association persevered in disseminating the quintessence of Chinese culture. The unique Chinese melody leads American audiences to think gorgeous of and yearn for China. Ao Changqun said: the fascination of Chinese music was fully displayed in this concert, we have the confidence and ability to put on more and excellent Chinese music works to the world stage, let the people of all countries in the world, through these works, to know more about China, understand China and love China. This is an unshakable responsibility of every Chinese musician; we will dedicate our life to the responsibility.
